MemberVault is a platform that gives you the ability to host products and content in addition to advanced engagement tracking and gamification. It’s built on the belief that you need to know how your users/students are engaging with your content in order to support and reward them.
You can connect MemberVault and Flodesk within minutes using Zapier.
Things you’ll need for the integration
Flodesk account
Zapier account
MemberVault account
At least one product in MemberVault
At least one segment in Flodesk
If you plan to use a zap to trigger a Workflow in Flodesk, we highly recommend creating the workflow in its entirety before creating and testing your zap.
Connecting MemberVault and Flodesk via Zapier
Step 1. Set up your Email Consent in MemberVault.
From your MemberVault dashboard, go to Settings → General Settings → Email Consent → Choose “Show email consent checkbox” from the dropdown menu.
This means that new members will be asked to opt into email marketing separately from gaining implied consent through your Terms of Service.
Step 2. Create a new zap and give it a name.
Step 3. Select MemberVault as the Trigger and choose an Event.
For this example, we will use “User Email Consent” as the event that starts the zap.
This means that the zap will start when a user approves Email Consent.
Step 4. Zapier will redirect you to sign in to connect to MemberVault. If you're connecting MemberVault to Zapier for the first time, you will be asked to sign in using your account name and an API Key.
To find your API Key, go to your Account Settings → Advanced Integration → Zapier.
Click the Yes, Continue button to complete the process.
Step 5. After you connect Zapier to your MemberVault account, you can customize the Email Consent trigger.
For this example, we will select Approved. This means that a zap will start when a new member approves email communication from you.
Step 6. Zapier will test the trigger to make sure it works properly. This step is optional.
Step 7. Select Flodesk as the Action and choose the Event. For this example, we will “Create/Update Subscriber” as the action that happens when the zap runs.
The first step almost always should be 'Create/Update Subscriber' in Flodesk. Unless the subscriber’s address already exists in Flodesk, they can't be added to segments, workflows, etc.
Step 8. If this is your first time connecting Flodesk and Zapier, you’ll be prompted to log into your Flodesk account.
Step 9. Choose your segment and any additional data fields that you want to map when the subscriber is added to Flodesk.
Step 10. Test your zap.
Step 11. After the test is successful, you can review the zap or turn on the zap so that it’s live.

Summary
You can use Zapier to connect MemberVault to Flodesk. When a subscriber opts-in via MemberVault, Zapier will automatically add them to your Flodesk Audience.
For this zap to work, you do have to set up Email Consent in MemberVault first. This is how you obtain the required permission to email your members via Flodesk.
When you’re creating the zap in Zapier, use MemberVault as the trigger segment and Flodesk as the action segment.
