In this video tutorial, we show you how to verify your custom domain manually, if your domain provider is Namecheap.
Step by step instructions:
Log into your Flodesk account and go to Account settings > Domain setup
On your domain card, click Verify now > I'll do it manually
Click Next
On the following screen, you’ll see the relevant verification records that you need to copy and add one-by-one into the Advanced DNS Panel in Namecheap. Each record has a specific type, host value and points to value.
You will need to add CNAME and TXT records as indicated.Using the copy button, copy the first “
Name/Host/Alias” recordLog into your Namecheap backend, navigate to the Advanced DNS Panel, and click the
Add New RecordbuttonUnder the Record Type dropdown, select CNAME Record
Paste the
“Name/Host/Alias”record from Flodesk to the “Host” field in NamecheapNext, copy the corresponding
“Value/Record/Data”value from Flodesk and paste it to the “Target” field in NamecheapSet the TTL to 5 min
Click the Save changes icon (green check mark)
In Flodesk, using the copy button, copy the second
“Name/Host/Alias”recordIn Namecheap, click the
Add New RecordbuttonUnder the Record Type dropdown, select CNAME Record
Paste the
“Name/Host/Alias”record from Flodesk to the “Host” field in NamecheapNext, copy the corresponding
“Value/Record/Data”value from Flodesk and paste it to the “Target” field in NamecheapSet the TTL to 5 min
Click the Save changes icon (green check mark)
In Flodesk, using the copy button, copy the third
“Name/Host/Alias”recordIn Namecheap, click the
Add New RecordbuttonUnder Record Type dropdown, select TXT Record
Paste the
“Name/Host/Alias”record from Flodesk to the “Host” field in NamecheapNext, copy the corresponding
“Value/Record/Data”value from Flodesk and paste it to the “Target” field in NamecheapSet the TTL to 5 min
Click the Save changes icon (green check mark)
In Flodesk, click the
Next > Done.The domain verification card may initially show as "Pending" as it can take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified
Note: Most often, DKIM and DMARC records are verified quicker and SPF records can take up to 48 hours to propagate. So it's not uncommon to see a "Partially verified" screen. You do not need to go through the verification steps again, though.
Wait 24-48 hours and come back to check if your domain has been successfully authenticated
