Are My Subscribers Double-Counted?

Short answer: No. Flodesk never double-counts your subscribers. Each person on your list is counted once as a unique subscriber based on their unique email address, even if they belong to multiple segments.

How subscriber counting works in Flodesk

Flodesk counts people (based on unique email addresses), not segments.

Here’s what that means in practice:

  • A single subscriber can belong to multiple segments (for example: Newsletter, Customers, and VIPs).

  • That subscriber will appear in the count for each segment they belong to.

  • In All Subscribers, that same person is counted only once.

So even if one subscriber shows up in five different segments, they are still just one subscriber on your list.

Why segment counts can look higher than your total list

It’s normal for segment numbers to add up to more than your total subscriber count.

That’s because:

  • Segments overlap

  • The same person can meet multiple segment rules

  • Flodesk does not duplicate people when calculating your total list size

Your All Subscribers view is always the most accurate number of unique subscribers in your account.
