How to merge audience segments
Overview
If you want to combine two or more segments, the process works by selecting all subscribers in one segment and adding them to another. There's no dedicated "merge" button: instead, you bulk-add subscribers from Segment A into Segment B, so that Segment B ends up containing everyone.
A few things to know upfront:
Subscribers aren't moved out of Segment A. They're added to Segment B in addition to staying in Segment A.
If you no longer need Segment A after merging, you can delete it. Deleting a segment removes the label only. It doesn't delete any subscribers.
You can also create a brand new segment (Segment C) and bulk-add subscribers from both Segment A and Segment B into it, if you'd prefer a fresh combined group.
How to merge two segments
Step 1: Open the segment you want to merge from
Go to Audience > Segments and click on the segment card (or the segment name if you're in list view) for the segment whose subscribers you want to add to another segment.

Step 2: Select all subscribers
Once inside the segment, click the Select all checkbox at the top of the subscriber list. This selects every subscriber in the segment.
Step 3: Select the action 'Add to segment"
With subscribers selected, select Add to segment from the quick actions buttons.
Step 4: Choose the destination segment
Type the name of the segment you want to add these subscribers to, then click Add.
Step 5: Confirm the merge is complete
The destination segment now contains its original subscribers plus everyone you just added. Both segments remain intact until you choose to delete one.
What happens after you merge
Subscribers added from Segment A will appear in Segment B, but they're still in Segment A too
No subscribers are deleted during this process
If you want to clean up, you can delete Segment A. Deleting a segment removes the label only: your subscribers stay in your account and in any other segments they belong to
FAQ
How do I merge two segments in Flodesk?
Go to Audience > Segments and open the segment you want to merge from. Select all subscribers using the Select all checkbox, and choose Add to segment from the available actions. Type the name of the destination segment and click Add. The destination segment will now include everyone from both segments.
Does combining segments delete any subscribers?
No. Merging segments doesn't delete any subscribers. Subscribers from Segment A are added to Segment B, but they remain in Segment A as well. No subscriber data is lost.
Will subscribers be removed from the original segment after merging?
No. Adding subscribers to a new segment doesn't remove them from their current one. After merging, subscribers will appear in both segments. If you no longer need the original segment, you can delete it separately.
What happens if I delete a segment after merging?
Deleting a segment removes the segment label only. Your subscribers stay in your account and in any other segments they belong to. Deleting Segment A after merging won't affect the subscribers now in Segment B.
Can I combine more than two segments in Flodesk?
Yes. You can repeat the process for as many segments as you need. You can also create a new segment and bulk-add subscribers from multiple existing segments into it, giving you a fresh combined group.
Is there a dedicated merge button in Flodesk?
No. Flodesk doesn't have a dedicated merge feature. The way to combine segments is to select all subscribers in one segment and use the Actions menu to add them to another segment (or a new one).
Can I create a new combined segment instead of merging into an existing one?
Yes. Create a new segment first, then bulk-add subscribers from each of your existing segments into it. This gives you a clean combined group without changing your original segments.
