Selling from your Flodesk Emails just became easier than ever. You can now directly connect to your Flodesk Checkout offers from within your standalone emails or workflow emails. Wherever you can add a link, you can also directly connect to your Flodesk Checkout.
How to integrate your Checkouts in your emails
In the Email builder, when you add a block type that can be connected to a link, you will see an option to directly connect to a Checkout.
Find here a list of block types that can currently be connected to links or Checkouts:
Button block
Countdown block
E-commerce block
Layout blocks
Image block
Link bar block
Step 1. When editing your email, add one of the eligible block types listed above to your email design. In this example, we have added a Layout block.
Step 2. On the right sidebar, select the Link tab, and the third option is to connect to a published Checkout.
Step 3. Use the dropdown menu to select the Checkout to connect to the Layout block. You can select your full sales checkout templates that include a sales page and also simple checkouts (product only).
The dropdown displays the ten most recent Checkouts by publish date. If you don’t see the Checkout you want to connect to, you can continue scrolling down the list to load more Checkouts for selection.
Note: The Checkout can also be for a free offer, not only a paid one, but it has to be a published Checkout in order to be pulled into the email.
Once you make the selection, when subscribers click on the Layout block, they will be redirected to the Checkout you select here.
Important: the product price of the Checkout does not automatically populate in the email body. You need to double-check and manually add any relevant information to the email. If you make a change to either the email text or the Checkout product price, it will not be reflected automatically on the other surface.
How to disconnect a Checkout from your email
To remove a Checkout you have connected to an eligible block type in your email:
Click on the block in the Email builder
Navigate to the Link tab and select the third option called Checkout
Click the trash can icon
Doing so will return the “Choose existing Checkout” dropdown.
Can I link multiple Checkouts within a single email?
Yes, you can link to multiple Checkouts within a single email. One thing to note is that one email block can only have one single link (or Checkout) connected. But you can add several email blocks to your email design and connect each to different Checkouts.
Can I edit a Checkout I connected to in my email?
You can edit a Checkout you connected to in your email. Go to your Checkouts dashboard and edit the Checkout as needed. Remember to publish the Checkout to ensure your changes become live.
Also, any changes to the following Checkout details will reflect in the “Choose existing Checkout” dropdown or card (if already selected):
Checkout name
Product price (included Discount, if applicable)
What happens if I unpublish a Checkout?
If you unpublish a Checkout on your Checkouts dashboard, it will no longer appear for selection in your email under the “Choose existing Checkout” dropdown.
Any previously sent emails with the now unpublished Checkout will return a 404 page not available error message when subscribers click them in the email.
If the Checkout you’re about to unpublish is connected to a scheduled email (not yet sent) or workflow, you will see an alert message similar to the one below.
What happens if I duplicate an email or an email block with a connected Checkout?
If you duplicate an email or an email block with an already connected Checkout, the connection remains active in the duplicated email or block, and the selected Checkout will remain linked.
What happens if I save an email or an email block with a connected Checkout as a favorite?
If you save an email or an email block with an already connected Checkout as a favorite, the connection remains active, and the selected Checkout will remain linked.
What happens if I share an email as a template with a connected Checkout?
If you share an email as a template with an already connected Checkout from your account, we will remove all Checkout links from the blocks. Your Checkout links will not be moved over into the importing member’s account.
What happens if I downgrade to the Email-only plan?
If you downgrade to the Email-only plan that doesn’t include Flodesk Checkout, all previous emails with the Checkout links will return a 404 page not available error message.
